FPSA Joins 2026 National Police Week: Honoring Heroes and Launching a Legacy

As the nation prepares to gather in Washington, D.C. for National Police Week 2026, the newly formed Federal Protective Service Association (FPSA) is proud to announce its participation in this year’s events—marking a powerful moment of remembrance, unity, and forward momentum for the Federal Protective Service community. Honoring Inspector Marty Martinez At the heart of FPSA’s presence this year is a solemn tribute to Inspector Marty Martinez, a United States Navy and Army National Guard veteran who served with the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Protective Service. Inspector Martinez tragically passed away from an aortic aneurysm after defending the Mark O. Hatfield Federal Courthouse in Portland during civil unrest. The FPSA is working hard to make sure Inspector Martinez is honored at the national memorial. First Annual FPSA Fundraiser In addition to participating in memorial events, the FPSA will host its First Annual Fundraiser—a milestone event aimed at raising support for its mission to provide immediate survivor benefits, scholarships, and memorial initiatives for fallen FPS officers and contractors. The fundraiser will feature guest speakers, silent auctions, and opportunities for vendors and supporters to contribute to the foundation’s growth. Looking Ahead Police Week 2026 will include a full schedule of events such as the Blue Mass, National Peace Officers Memorial Service, and the Police Week 5K, all centered around honoring law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty. The FPSA’s participation marks its official emergence as a voice for the Federal Protective Service community and a beacon of support for its members and their families.
